Nice And Handy , Too Slow to Fill the Air especially when you want comfortable firmness..

I originally had the Colman Quickpump II, and it was really powerful and I never had any trouble pumping up my full size air mattress. By accident I must have left the pump on and the motor burned out. I bought the Colman Quickpump, and I was so disappointed with it that I took it back. The motor is smaller than the II model, and it took over 20 minutes to pump up my mattress half way before it sounded like the pump motor was going to burn up. I had to blow air in by mouth to finish pumping the mattress up to the right firmness. Apparently they don't make the Quickpump II anymore. It was great because it pumped up my mattress fully in 10 minutes. Maybe the Quickpump would do OK on a twin small mattress, but don't even think about using it for anything bigger. My mattress wasn't even the double size height. I am going to have to go with the hand pump now.

It was always a bit slow, but it filled my double mattress on two occasions, then acted like the batteries were dying, and never worked again. I changed the batteries, but it was already dead. I think the motor burned out. I expect more for the price.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could still buy things that weren't made in China?

A little slower than an electric pump, but when you are traveling to places where there is no dependable electricity, the speed of an electric pump is a little use to you. This one will air up a twin air mattress is 5 minutes or less and deflate it even faster! Nice to have!

We've found this to be a great product. We use it to inflate, and also deflate, a 2 person inflatable kayak. With the pump it takes about 5 minutes, with most of the time spent opening and securing air chambers - not hard. If we tried this with a hand air pump I'm sure it would take more than ½ hr of pumping. This is a good way to pump a lot of air rapidly, in or out of whatever needs air. Be warned though, that this is a relatively low pressure air pump - you're not pumping tires or basket balls. The pump moves a large volume of air at low pressure. It might be nice if the air pressure were a little higher, but that might be enough to pop the inflatable kayak, so I don't know - it works.
We got the version of the pump that uses 4 D-cell batteries. We wanted to be able to inflate our kayak way off the main road and beaten path. The batteries work fine for that. We get several inflates/deflates from a single battery pack, but it might be wise to always bring a spare set of new batteries along. Noise levels are not too loud - you'll definitely hear the pump, but there's no hearing pain, or loss of hearing, involved, just normal noise.
I recommend the pump. It's great for the kayak application, and I'd bet it would be great for pumping up inflatable beds, etc - anything where you have to move a lot of low pressure air.
