I purchased this Wagan EL2050 air compressor to replace an old Sears air compressor I use mainly for adjusting pressure in race tires on my car. The Wagan compressor performs very well - quieter and adds pressure a lot quicker than my old compressor. My only complaint is the connector that threads onto the valve stem - it seems the threaded section of the connector is too short - only the first 1-2 threads engage, so it doesn't hold onto the valve stem very well.

After receive this compressor, I did a test and found it was not for my cars. The one page instruction was printed in two foreign languages. I had to go to Wagan web side to find English instructions.
Even this product claimed the maximum current is 14A, it burned my car's 15A fuse on the second time I switched it on. I put in a 20A fuse, and tried it again, the pump did not start. After disconnect tire, switched it on, it started. I did more tests, and found that if it was connected to the tire, and air pipe had some presser in it, it might not start. This is definitely not "Heavy Duty"!
Since both of my cars use 15A fuses, and it appears not working reliable, I made my decision to return this pump. I have shopped with AMAZON for more than 10 years. This is the first product I returned.

I wanted to replace my noisy, slow, plastic automotive compressor with something more durable. I've been very pleased with my purchase of the Wagan unit.
The metal construction is solid, and compliments excellent performance. I topped off four car tires in the time it would have taken my old unit to do one. I even refilled a flat spare to 60psi in minutes, a job that would have overheated and probably killed the old compressor. The Wagan hardly broke a sweat.
The Wagan is significantly quieter, faster, and appears to be much more solid and durable than the typical plastic automotive compressor available out there.
